Student Code of Conduct & Host-Home Agreement

Arete classes meet in private residences. Enrollment and continued attendance require students and parents to honor the following expectations:

  • Treat each host residence as both a private home and a classroom. Students may use only authorized class areas.
  • Do not enter bedrooms, offices, storage areas, closets, garages, yards, or other private areas without permission. Do not open cabinets or refrigerators or handle belongings, food, pets, tools, or equipment without permission.
  • Respect the home and its property. Keep materials in assigned areas, clean spills promptly, restore furniture and equipment, and follow drop-off and pick-up directions.
  • Come prepared and participate reverently in gratitude, prayer, hymns, and catechism. Listen carefully, take turns, and contribute appropriately.
  • Use respectful language and conduct. Bullying, harassment, profanity, ridicule, roughhousing, deliberate disruption, and disrespect are not permitted.
  • Keep phones and other electronics put away unless a teacher authorizes their use.
  • Follow all laboratory and safety directions, accept correction, and complete work honestly.

An instructor may redirect a student, contact a parent, remove the student from an activity, or require the student to leave. Serious or repeated misconduct may result in immediate dismissal or expulsion. Unauthorized entry into private areas, damage or theft, threatening or unsafe conduct, harassment, or flagrant disrespect may result in expulsion without progressive warnings. Families may be responsible for repair or replacement costs.
