Each Arete family is encouraged to purchase one shared family copy of The God Proofs: How Science Points to YOUR Creator by Douglas Ell. This is outside reading, not a class-specific text, and it may or may not be referred to in class.

Honors Life Science

Students explore the microscopic world and the cell, the human body, genetics, matter and energy flow, information processing, ecosystems, biodiversity, and evolutionary theory in conversation with Intelligent Design.
The course emphasizes a growth mindset and high-structure study. Ongoing practice includes RRC, Chapter Exercises, Anki, and Moodle. Students complete teacher-directed investigations, record models and brief activity follow-up in the commonplace journal, and create a project to present at the end of each semester.
What Students Will Do
- Ask scientific questions and conduct experiments
- Use a commonplace journal for RRC notes, drawings, diagrams, corrections, and assigned activity work
- Practice free recall, summaries, and learning paragraphs
- Participate in discussion, presentations, nature lore, and activities

- Pens in at least two colors for visible corrections

Tuition & Materials
Annual tuition is $430 plus a $50 materials fee, for a total of $480—approximately $13.33 per week across the 36-week program. Children of Arete teachers receive a $50 tuition discount per enrolled student, making the annual total $430, or approximately $11.94 per week, including the materials fee. Scale How School is a nonprofit; tuition supports teacher compensation and the materials fee pays for course materials.
Location & Enrollment
This class meets in South Kaysville, Utah. Enrollment is selective and limited to seven students.
